Editorial Ethics
Preventio Hub operates under a small set of ethical principles that shape every editorial choice. They are stated here so readers can hold us accountable to them.
1. Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial, institutional, or political interest. We are not owned by, paid by, or accountable to any manufacturer, distributor, professional association, or trade body in the dental industry.
2. No paid placement
No content on Preventio Hub is sponsored, paid, or placed in exchange for any consideration. We do not accept money for reviews, mentions, links, or favourable framing. If we ever introduce affiliate links or sponsored sections in the future, they will be visually distinct from editorial content and clearly labeled as such.
3. Brand neutrality
Brands are treated equally. Every comparison lists brands alphabetically. Critical analysis is applied with the same standard whether a manufacturer is the global market leader or a new entrant. We do not soften coverage of large brands to maintain access, and we do not amplify small brands to seem contrarian.
4. Honesty about limitations
If we don't know something, we say so. If a study is small or has methodological weaknesses, we report the weaknesses. If pricing varies and we have not verified it, we say "not verified." Empty cells and honest gaps are preferred to dressed-up speculation.
5. Patient safety first
Where a manufacturer's marketing diverges from clinical evidence on a safety-relevant matter — for example, whether a powder is appropriate for use on an exposed implant surface — we side with the evidence. Patient safety is not a topic where editorial diplomacy is appropriate.
6. Transparent corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it openly, mark the correction with date and nature, and learn from it. We do not silently rewrite history.
7. Anonymity for editorial integrity
Articles are published under the collective byline "Preventio Hub" rather than individual author names. This is a deliberate ethical choice: it removes personal-branding incentives that can subtly bias editorial judgement, and it ensures the collective is accountable for every article rather than any individual carrying outsized weight.
8. Respect for clinical judgement
Preventio Hub provides reference information for dental professionals. We do not substitute for clinical judgement on individual cases. Clinicians are the ultimate decision-makers for individual patient care; our role is to help them have the best-available information when they decide.
9. Source attribution
Where a claim is drawn from another publication, study, or manufacturer document, the source is attributed. We do not paraphrase others' work to obscure authorship, and we do not present aggregations as if they were original research.
10. Right of reply
If a manufacturer believes Preventio Hub has misrepresented their product or claims, they can reach us through the contact form. We will engage with substantive corrections promptly. We do not, however, accept content edits in exchange for non-publication, withdrawal of advertising, or any other commercial pressure.
